Welcome to the Mays Home

“Where Faith, Family, and Compassion Come Together.”

Now Welcoming Two Individuals!

At the Mays Home, we believe everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, valued, supported, and truly at home. Brian and Leslie Mays are dedicated providers who have opened their hearts and their licensed home to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), creating a warm, family-centered environment built on love, patience, kindness, and respect. The Mays Home currently has openings for two individuals who are looking for a supportive, welcoming environment where they can build meaningful relationships and enjoy the comforts of family life.

As empty nesters with two adult children and two beloved grandchildren, Brian and Leslie understand the importance of family, companionship, and meaningful connections. They are excited to welcome new individuals into their home and share the everyday joys that make life special—from home-cooked meals and family gatherings to laughter, friendship, and new adventures.

For the Mays family, providing care is more than a responsibility—it's a calling.

‍Meet Brian and Leslie Mays

With over two years of experience as full-time providers and many additional years offering backup care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Brian and Leslie bring both professional experience and genuine compassion to their work.

Leslie has an extensive background in healthcare, having worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in nursing homes and hospitals. Her experience with the Department of Health also provided opportunities to help individuals connect with essential services, resources, and community support. Her knowledge, nurturing personality, and dedication to helping others contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of the Mays Home.

Brian is a licensed provider and an automotive mechanic by trade. He brings a practical, hands-on approach to everyday challenges, along with patience, dependability, and a willingness to lend a helping hand. Together, Brian and Leslie make a compassionate team committed to supporting each individual's unique needs and abilities.

Their Christian faith is an important foundation in their lives, inspiring them to treat others with kindness, understanding, dignity, and unconditional love. They strive to create an inclusive home where every individual is welcomed, respected, and encouraged to be themselves.

Family, Friendship, and Everyday Adventures

Life at the Mays Home is centered around connection, shared experiences, and making meaningful memories. Brian and Leslie enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, whether gathering around the dinner table for a home-cooked meal, enjoying a lively game night, or simply relaxing and sharing stories.

They also love getting out and exploring their community. From attending church events and browsing antique shops to dining at local restaurants, watching movies, traveling, and taking scenic drives through the countryside, there are plenty of opportunities for recreation, companionship, and new experiences.

At the Mays Home, activities and routines are guided by each individual's personal interests, preferences, and abilities. Brian and Leslie recognize that everyone has their own personality, strengths, and goals, and they believe in providing encouragement and support while respecting individual choices and independence.

“Our hope is to create a home where everyone feels comfortable being themselves, where meaningful relationships grow naturally, and where each day brings opportunities for joy, connection, and personal growth.”

A Loving Environment Where Everyone Belongs

For Brian and Leslie, a home is much more than four walls—it's a place where people feel accepted, appreciated, and part of a family.

They believe that the strongest relationships are built on trust, patience, understanding, and mutual respect. Their goal is to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where individuals receive the personalized support they need while enjoying the comforts and companionship of everyday family life.

Understanding that every person has unique needs, interests, and abilities, Brian and Leslie look forward to welcoming individuals who will be a great fit for their home. They are committed to building positive, lasting relationships and helping each individual experience a fulfilling life filled with dignity, belonging, and opportunity.

At the Mays Home, faith inspires compassion, family creates connection, and every individual deserves to feel at home.
